A Publisher's Rant - Why I Hate Your Articles
- By: Dennis Quimbolito
I'm a publisher for quite a few sites. I HATE a lot of your articles. Here's my rant and what you can do to alter my mind.
Don't Send Me Your Articles
To begin with, don't ship me articles. I only take them from directories. The aim of this article is to offer you a greater thought of what I'm on the lookout for in articles. It isn't to create an assault on my electronic mail account.
You're Killing Me
Okay, "hate" is powerful word and I most likely shouldn't use it. It is, however, the word that comes to mind after I blow an hour in an article directory trying to find usable articles!
As an Internet advertising firm, we beef up client sites by including article content. This means I handle the article sections of more sites than I want to admit. Due to this, I spend most of my time trying to find good articles. By "good articles," I'm talking about articles which might be formatted and organized in a way that makes them ready for publishing. I'm NOT speaking about what you write, simply the way you set up and format it.
Constructing article pages on sites is a tedious process. If coping with your article is going to require me to make lots of modifications, I cannot publish it. Extra so, I will NEVER have a look at your articles again. Regardless of your captivating headline, I will merely bypass it as soon as I see your name. Whether or not you understand it or not, you have a status with webmasters, publishers and editors.
However I Want You
I hunt by article directories as a result of I would like your content. New content equals completely happy guests for the websites I work on. Aside from a few of you, nevertheless, I loath the very ground you walk on because you make my job miserable. Yes, miserable. The problem I've with your articles is you create them in a method and format that makes my teeth grind. Again, I'm not speaking about WHAT you write about, just HOW you set it together.
When I look for articles each two days, I am trying to find something I can slap onto the sites as quickly as possible. This means your article needs to be formatted to make meta tagging and hyperlinking as simple as humanly possible. Keep in mind that I'm publishing a whole bunch of articles a day, not one or two. Time is at a premium. If you happen to make the job easy for me, I will snap up articles as fast as you can publish them.
Why Ought to You Care
It is best to care about my gripe as a result of many of my peers really feel the same way. When we get together, bitching about your articles is a popular subject. That hurts you from both a readership and link constructing perspective. You wish to get publicity from your articles and we need to give it to you. Adjust to our demands and we are going to paste you all over the net. Don't and you'll watch the proverbial tumbleweed continue to roll by your site.
Now, you're in all probability thinking none of this applies to you. In truth, I think it applies to 90 % of the authors publishing in directories. Yes, that is even true for the authors publishing a whole lot of articles.
I'm going to publish a sequence of articles on this subject all at once. These articles will cover intimately what I need to see in every section of your article. I pray that you will learn them and ease the distress of all of us lowly publishers.
I'm a publisher for numerous sites. I HATE lots of your articles. Here's my rant and what you can do to vary my mind.
