     In the continuing search for the next best way to positively influence SEO, the idea of author ranking has received much attention with those who want to find the best way to position a website in the search engine results listings. Authorship and the positioning of popular writers has grown as a viable way to build optimization through credibility and trust. Best of all, this method seems to work not just for websites where writers are regularly published but even when the article or writing appears on websites where that content creator has been a guest blogger or otherwise submitted content to be included.

Author rank is therefore based on a writer's past works, reputation, credibility, and following that has been built on the internet as well as the number of hits any content has received on the various websites where it has been posted.

Of course, there will always be some SEO work involved to expand and increase an initial author audience. The main ways in which content creators can build a good reputation is by being sure to always claim any completed work and then posting such work on websites that adhere to successful SEO practices. Initially getting a writer’s name displayed and recognized is the first thing that must happen before a following of devoted readers can take place; so this is where standard marketing and SEO enters the picture. Once a writer starts to have written material read and receive more and more hits on a website with followers and recommendations, an author rating will grow as a result, with ranking following closely after.

Any internet presence that is already using good SEO and marketing practices can in turn benefit by hosting content from authors with high ratings and high rankings. As opposed to the above mentioned scenario where a website's positioning and optimization efforts can help a non-ranked author gain attention, a highly regarded article creator can in turn help to increase that internet location's position by attracting more traffic. Once a content composer has a regular audience, it is likely that followers will visit any website that has the writer's work published. The increased traffic as well as the attraction of a recognized article creator can help to increase general website optimization.

What website builders and content creators should learn from this is to always provide the best, most correct and relevant work - and be sure to always claim such work through Google. Develop a reader following, then use that notoriety as the powerful SEO tool that authorship and its rank can be!
