Information for your business, and the badges and buttons related to these organizations, should be on your website. Displaying this information from the organizations will add to your credibility overall. They also open the doors to all sorts of networking opportunities and create a lot of links back to your website. Many people dread the idea of cold calling. If your business is web based, you may have assumed there would be no need to cold call anyone. The truth is, however, that your product or service could probably be beneficial to many people. You might even know exactly who some of those people (and companies) are. You have nothing to lose by calling some of them and introducing yourself. The call needn't last long. Ask them if you could send them a brochure or an email explaining more about your offer. As you make more calls, you'll be expanding your list of business contacts, which can be very helpful down the road. Many companies still use cold calling because it gets results.
