Shawls and Wraps Do Not Be a Fashion Victim

Shawls and wraps are very popular these days. A lot of women are using them. You see women wearing shawls and wraps just about anywhere. They wear them in schools, churches and other places of worship, in the office, in the park, to the movies and during formal gatherings. The nice thing is that people wear shawls in various ways and styles. People also use shawls in different materials, colors and designs so they are not boring to look at. But these many options also make it prone for women to make wrong choices. In order for you not to be a target of the fashion police, here are some suggestions that you should seriously take.

If you are going to a formal event choose shawl made of fabric similar to your gown. It is always safe that way. Common materials are silk, pashmina, satin and lace. Also, choose a color that would blend well with your dress. It could actually be of the same color as the dress or a few shades lighter. With a black dress you can actually match any color you want.

For formal gatherings, shawls are usually just wrapped around the back and tied in front. Some use bejeweled pins. Others use brooch. Some women wore it over their shoulders instead of around the back. Others make a triangle out of the shawl before wrapping it around.

For cocktail events, you can also make use of the shawl in a similar manner. Lace perhaps may take a back seat unless of course it is just simple. A trendy cashmere shawl would be good. You can also wrap the shawl around your back but leave the ends freely hanging in front or resting on each of your forearms.

In the office, the best wraps to have are those in neutral colors. They do not draw unnecessary attention. Remember, you are there to work and not to party. Usually, a bit more liberty is given to executives or officers. Then can wear color to show their stature. Lace shawls are not recommended be they simple or not. Pashmina and cashmere are good. Knits are good also depending on the count. Leave the silk shawls to the higher ups unless your real intention is to literally get noticed by the bosses.

For casual affairs you are freer to choose bright colors. That is of course if the color will match your outfit. You can also use shawls with prints. You can actually be more playful for casual events.

You can vary the ways you use the wraps for casual events. You can just fold the shawl along its length and drape it over your shoulders. You can leave the ends hanging or you can create a simple knot. You can also get one end and loop it to the opposite shoulder. You can also do this with the two ends. You can even create the winter loop. That is, gather the shawl along its length, fold it in half to create a loop and wrap it around your shoulders. Then insert the two free ends to the loop.

Follow these tips regarding use of shawls and wraps so you will not become fashion victims.
