You don't need to stress out about it if your family happens to be a little low on vacation funds this year. Enjoying you time with your family doesn't have to be dependent on shelling out a lot of money on your vacation. Sometimes, simple vacations can actually be even more fun than pricey ones. Think back on the fun times you've had in the past, and you may be amazed by how many of those times were simple things that actually cost little if any money. After all, the destination is not the most crucial part of a family vacation - the truly important part is simply spending precious time together as a family. If you are looking for something affordable to do as a family vacation, or else you just want to have fun during a free afternoon, then planning a vacation day at the park could be exactly the thing for you!
Determining Where You Should Go
If your community is like most, then there is probably a park situated somewhere nearby. There might even be multiple parks near enough to you that it will take very little time to drive to them. If you do a bit of research, you'll probably find that different parks in your area provide different features. One park, for instance, might have a fantastic area for a picnic while another one might have a basketball court or baseball diamond. Other parks often have excellent trails and nature walks that everybody will love. Your target ought to be the park that has the most features that everyone in your family will have a good time with. Although you ought to keep in mind that experimenting with something new is often the most fun. After the location is chosen, then will come the planning.
Making Plans for a Vacation Day at the Local Park
Even while spontaneous outings to the park can be loads of fun, you can at times have an even better time if you just do some planning first. Choose some activities that you would like to participate in throughout your day at the park, and gather together your equipment and materials if necessary. One example of an inexpensive way to have a good time is to bring your kites to the park if it is a windy day. Or, put together a picnic lunch, allowing everyone to contribute an item to the menu. Do not forget to take your camera, since that will permit you to capture some amazing memories which can later be preserved inside picture frames or a scrapbook at home. You may also want to load up sports supplies such as a baseball, bat and glove, or your tennis rackets if you know the park has a court you can play on. Many parks even allow you to bring your dog along, provided that you keep him or her on a leash and clean up after them.
How to Savor the Memories of Your Family's Day of Vacation
Just because your vacation day involved the neighborhood park rather than an exotic destination does not mean you will not still want to take plenty of photos. Get some shots of the pretty landscapes, and of your loved ones having fun together as a family. You may even want to have enlargements made of some of your photos, placing them in large picture frames to make interesting and reasonably priced wall art.
As you can see, it doesn't take lots of time or money to have a wonderful vacation. All that is required is a bit of planning, a destination, and the desire to have fun!
