How To Avoid Frauds While Outsourcing Java Development?

We all have had a bad experience with the outsourcing web development or any other project. Either it happened to us, or any of our colleague or friend, but we cannot deny the fact that frauds and crimes like that happen. In order to protect your project against the same, you should follow our set of below mentioned guidelines. Kindly read ahead to know more:

1. Only hire coders who are known and reliable – the very first step is to hire the Java Developers who are reliable and trustworthy. This is also the reason why you should spread the word in the community of your professional and personal contacts and ask for references, instead of simply hiring from the internet. Also, if this step does not work, do consider hiring through various freelance portals like Elance etc. A developers or the development company having the best of the feedbacks on this portal should be the company of your choice. Besides, you may expect the offshore development centers to be reliable over these platforms, for they would have a long term reputation to defend. Lastly, even if you decide to hire the developers on their own, ask for at least 3 references, contact them and find out if the developers are reliable or not.

2. Do not bargain much about the compensation – By the virtue of the very nature of offshore development, the development costs are reduced and pretty much reasonably. Although Java is an open source application development platform, the actual skills of the developers cannot be pitched against the money. Hence, respect the developers you hire and pay them according to the requirements of the project. We are not against negotiating, of course you should try and negotiate, but don’t push it after a particular point, because if you do, the developers you hire would not put their heart in the application, or rather would feel hurt that they are not getting paid as per their efforts; which in turn would not be good for the project. Hence, offer them an amount and incentives that would motivate them to work hard, instead of degrading their enthusiasm.

3. Sign legal binding contracts to safeguard your interests – no matter how much a reliable developer you have got or how many times you have worked with the same, it is always the best practice to put everything in black and white and sign it. To begin with, in order to protect the intellectual property, always do sign a Non disclosure agreement. Under the theft of the intellectual property or the idea, your developers or the offshore center would assume total responsibility. Also, legally bind the payment cycle as well. Do not permit the developers from using switches, with the help of which the entire application would fall apart in case of any conflict. In the absence of switches, you would still be able to own the application – no matter how incomplete it is, depending on the point when the disagreement happened.

4. Maintain a state of constant vigilance – The best feature about offshore Java development services is that with the help of right communication tools in place, you get the chance to easily and virtually manage and own your project and the team working on it. With the help of daily reporting via emails and contact via video calling apps and software, you can easily exercise total control on the development cycle. And please do exercise this control and ensure that the development is going as expected.
