Joint pain affects millions and millions of people around the world. Even extremely health conscious people end up having to put up with painful joints periodically. For some, the pain might only be short-term, nevertheless for some, it becomes a part of their everyday lives. They get up with painful joints, and they retire for the night with painful joints.
Joint pain may be caused by several different things. It may be the result of an injury for instance, or even the result of going to sleep on a substandard quality mattress. Fortunately, when your pain is attributable to reasons like these, it is almost always short-lived.
If on the other hand your discomfort is attributable to an ailment like arthritis, then it is not likely to just fade away. Arthritis is not the type of disorder that emerges and then simply fades away again a short while later. In fact, it is the single biggest reason for disability in the world, and the number of individuals getting the illness is increasing at an frightening rate.
Can Arthritis Be Cured? It is generally said that there is currently no known cure for arthritis, and while I am definitely not going to argue with doctors, I will go as far as saying I am not altogether convinced. Maybe I should say that I am not totally sure that the disorder cannot be avoided. Every person in my immediate family has endured arthritis, other than me, and of course I have my personal theories as to why this has been the case.
For instance, while I have on no account really gone out of my way to eat a fully balanced diet, my standard diet has always included a lot of essential fatty acids. My favorite foods are likewise wonderful sources of complex carbohydrates, a few of which are known as mucopolysaccharides.
If fact, when somebody asks me to recommend nutritional supplements for joint pain, I generally advise them to try quality fish oil supplements, considering that fish oil is a superb source of omega-3 fatty acids. I also advise them to make use of a green lipped mussel powder supplement, since this on the other hand, is an excellent source of those complex carbohydrates I spoke of in the previous paragraph.
Many people have also found that garlic supplements aid to reduce joint pain, but it is essential to remember that what is good for one individual, might not work for someone else. It is also worthwhile remembering that dietary nutritional supplements for joint pain are very unlikely to result in rapid relief in the same way prescription drugs do.
One Major Reason To Contemplate The Use Of Supplements Non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have long since been the most well-known pharmaceutical based arthritis treatment. At present however, there has been a dramatic switch to COX-2 inhibitors, which generally speaking, are merely modernized NSAIDs. The unsettling thing concerning this approach to treatment is that the drugs are not without risks.
During the past twelve years or so, COX-2 inhibitors have been linked to around 140,000 cases of coronary heart disease in the US. Far more disturbing is the fact that in the United Kingdom the drugs have up to now been linked to more than 100 lethal heart attacks.
